Try typing your dealership name into Google and see what comes up. Hopefully, you’ll see your business details appear at the right if you’re on a desktop, or underneath the paid adverts if you’re on a mobile device.

A Google study found that 50% of consumers who conducted a local search on their smartphone, visited a store within a day. This means its really important to make sure your business listing is up to date and relevant.

add or claim your listing

If you don’t already have a listing on Google My Business, it’s time to either create it or claim it!

First of all, head to ‘Google My Business‘ and sign in. Then select ‘Add Business’. You then search for your business name, to see if there’s a listing that exists, following the steps to claim it.

If after searching for your business nothing comes up, you’ll want to select ‘Add your business to Google’ and follow the steps.

keep your dealership information accurate and up to date

You’ll want to make sure your Name, Address and Phone Number are all up to date. For maximum SEO points, you’ll want to make sure the format of this information is consistent across the internet.

If there are variations on your website, Facebook or Twitter pages or any online directories your business appears in, Google won’t like it, and that means fewer people finding your business.
